At the invitation of the Royal Opera of Wallonia, the Kunqu Opera Troupe of Suzhou is sending a delegation of 58 members to Belgium. The delegation would put on the traditional masterpiece of "Palace of Eternal Youth" at the Royal Opera House, on January 12, 13 and 14.

 

Originated from Kunshan, Jiangsu Province more than 600 years ago, the Kunqu Opera is one of the oldest traditional operas in China. It is called "ancestor of operas". In 2001, it was selected as Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
