On 5th February 2020, Ambassador Cao Zhongming met with the Belgian Federal Minister of Social Affairs and Health Maggie De Block. Minister Counsellor Zhang Chi from the Embassy was also present.

Ambassador Cao Zhongming expressed his appreciation for the calm and rational approach of the Belgian government facing the new coronavirus outbreak, reiterated that China has the resolve, confidence and ability to defeat the epidemic, and hoped that Belgium together with other members of the international community will continue to support China in its endeavors.

Minister De Block said that Belgium has followed recommendations from the World Health Organization, and is ready to tap its strength to support China in its prevention and control efforts.
