Embassy of China in Belgium Launches Consular Service Robots

On 26th August 2019, the launching ceremony was held for a service robot at the reception hall of the consular section of the Embassy of China in Belgium. Ambassador Cao Zhongming and CEO of Zora Bots Fabrice Goffin jointly switched on the consular robot named “Ling Ling”. Minister counselor Zhang Chi, administrative and consular counselor Sun Wei, together with close to 30 persons from the overseas Chinese community and Chinese-funded companies in Belgium, Chinese students, and journalists attended the ceremony.

This “Ling Ling” consular service robot was developed jointly by the Chinese Embassy and the Belgian robotics company Zora Bots. The robot, manufactured by the Chinese company SIASUN Robot & Automation Co Ltd, runs software developed by Zora Bots. Its functions and application scenarios were designed by the Chinese Embassy. The robot is a result of cooperation between the Chinese Embassy and robotics companies from China and Belgium.
