Li Keqiang: Growth and restructuring go hand in hand
2013-07-15 17:04

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has said the country is in a phase when it must rely on economic transformation to maintain its healthy development.

Speaking during an economic meeting in south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, he highlighted the symbiotic relationship between growth and reforms.

Growth, he says, creates conditions for restructuring, while restructuring in turn unleashes potential for economic growth.

During the meeting, Li called for more efforts to integrate industrialization and information technology, and promote new-type urbanization that puts people first.

He also emphasized that China must quicken reforms in the areas of administration, taxation, finance and pricing, in order to make private investment more active and the market more vigorous.
