Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan Visiting Belgium

At the invitation of Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Didier Reynders, Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan visited Belgium from 21 to 24 of September.

Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt Greeting His Chinese Guest



During the visit, the Vice Premier met with Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt and held talks with the Deputy Prime Minister. He also attended a breakfast meeting organized by the Belgian Enterprise Federation(FEB). During the meeting with the Prime Minister, the two sides exchanged views on developing the bilateral relations, pushing forward mutual investment cooperation as well as regional and international questions of common concern. During the talks with the Deputy Prime Minister, the Vice Premier made a 4-point suggestion on deepening the relations between the two countries. More than 100 entrepreneurs showed up at the breakfast meeting held by FEB. The Vice Premier made a speech and answered several questions on Chinese policies on environmental protection, intellectual property rights, etc. He hoped that business people on both sides could continuously expand the scope and enrich the content of cooperation, sparing no efforts in achieving a win-win situation.

Later, the Vice Premier visited Brugge, capital city of West Flanders, Port of Zeebrugge, the Brussels Renewable Energy House, and the Belgian Nuclear Research Center at Mol. During the visit, the two sides signed agreements in various fields, covering nuclear energy, environmental protection, finance, education and port cooperation.
